// REO is an app that helps brokers to digitalise their business. It’s a field of work that many stated as not digitizable. REO is trying to prove them wrong.
During my stay at REO I felt the true power of a motivated team with the short paths of a startup. I worked hand in hand with other designers, developers and some truly engaged customers.
// I got the opportunity to build up a UX workflow and develop a vision. One thing I established straight away was the product SumUp.
It’s a weekly published format documenting my work, while providing profound insights about concepts. I tried out many ways to do so, but ultimately ended up using a mix of Notion and Loom.
Each Friday the whole company could decide to either read a short summary of topics in Slack or, when wanted, dive into in-depth usability discussions in Notion for over 40 SumUps so far.
// How do you visualize a product that hasn’t been on the market before? A product so special that you need in depth insights to give valuable feedback?
We asked ourselves this question and ultimately decided to build a prototype that is ahead of its real life counterpart while still providing the full experience. We called it the vision prototype. It had many pros to do so. Sales uses such a prototype to visualize what customers can be excited about, while product uses it to understand the impact of decision better.
The downside, on the other hand, is its maintenance. Still, the prototype helped a lot to develop Flinn.
// You can imagine in my time at Flinn we shipped so many features, built a library, had endless discussions, a website and so much more I want to talk about.
However, as Flinn is an early start-up, I won’t be able to discuss everything in public. You are welcome to approach me and let me share the world we created with you.
